About Me! 👋
Hey, I’m Yameen - a 14 year-old Innovator at The Knowledge Society (TKS), Army Cadet, Writer for Start it Up and STEAM Student at RHHS.
I’m interested in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI’s) and Gene-Editing. Currently, I’m working on AI-related projects!
My goal in life is to have an impact. Life is short, so with the time you have, make a difference!
But, you didn’t come here to learn about my life goals, you came to learn about my month.
So here you go!
April! 🌼
Wow, can you believe it! April went by way too fast!!
This month, I focused on one main project - building a moonshot company.
It was definitely a wild ride but so I got to learn + experience so many new things!
So before I take up too much of your time, welcome to my month of April!
Mindset of the Month 🧠
A fun little situation to help explain this mindset (inspired from TKS 😉):
Let’s assume you were given the challenging task of teaching a monkey to recite Shakespeare while on-top of a pedestal.
So, there are two things you need to do:
Teach the monkey to recite Shakespeare
Teach the monkey to go on the pedestal
Now, if you were in this situation, what would you do?
Would you teach the monkey to recite Shakespeare first - doing the harder thing first?
Or would you teach the monkey to go on-top of the pedestal - to get the easier thing out of the way first?
Well, although you could pick either, the best option would be to do the hard thing first.
Now, how does this tie into the mindset of “failing fast”?
Well, it’s in doing the hard thing first where you will fail faster.
But that’s not a bad thing.
In fact, the contrary, it’s the better thing.
When you fail fast, you understand the flaws your solution and in turn, reiterate and improve.
It’s better to fail fast and improve fast than to continue with a flawed idea and fail at the most critical moment.
Building a Moonshot Company 🤯
This month at TKS, we built a moonshot company!!
It was an absolutely crazy experience - from pulling all-nighters, joking around and stressing out last minute, it was a blast!
Long story short, my team (consisting of Sambhav and Aman) created a company called Project Helios - a revolutionary carbon capture utilization (CCU) company helping to capture and convert carbon emissions into renewable electrical energy before it enters the atmosphere.
And, to be honest, we didn’t know sh*t about carbon capture before starting this company - it was definitely a bumpy ride learning about all the in-depth science associated with it.
But, it payed off!
For a general overview of our solution, we used two methods still widely in its research phases (but which have shown major potential in completely revolutionizing the carbon capture industry):
Using solar cells for carbon capture.
Using a Hybrid Na-CO2 System to help convert captured carbon into usable electricity.
For a more in-depth explanation, feel free to take a read at our Article, One-Pager, Website and Slide Deck!
+ We were also able to get tons of advice, guidance and praise from experts in the carbon capture field:
In addition to all this, tomorrow, we will be pitching our idea to a group of CEOs, founders and VCs (hypeee):
The moonshot was so fun and even though we can finally take a break, I’m sad that it’s over!
And finally, shoutout to my team - Sambhav and Aman! I’m going to tell you right now, these guys are 🐐’s (I know Du Bébé is proud lmao).
So from all the laughs to the “oh sh*t” moments, thanks guys… for everything!! 🚀
What’s next (goals for May)? ✨
Although I wasn’t able to work much on my April goals because of the moonshot, in May, I’m going strong!
In the coming month, I’ll complete the action items I missed this month:
My AI Focus - Create
Creating more podcast episodes
Reading more books
Listening to more podcasts
Continuing with healthy living - waking up early, meditating, working out, etc
That’s it…for now! ⏰
It’s been an amazing month and I’m so excited for what’s next.
In May, I’m going to big - working on projects, living a better lifestyle and getting things done!
I’m excited for the month ahead, so until then…
… enjoy your May!
(And feel free to subscribe to stay up to date with everything I do!)
